Peter F. Jorgensen is a full professor in the Department of Communication at º£½ÇÆƽâ°æ where he currently serves as the Department Chair. He recently served as the Interim Associate Dean of the College of Fine Arts and Communication and served as the Coordinator of the Graduate Program in Communication for over 10 years. He also served as the Co-Chair of the National Communication Association’s Training and Development Division. He received his B.A. in Speech Communication from San Francisco State University, his M.A. in Professional Communication from San Diego State University, and his Ph.D. in Communication from the University of Arizona. He primarily teaches graduate and undergraduate courses in organizational communication. In addition, he teaches courses in communication research methods, persuasion, communication training and development, and small group communication.

He has presented a number of professional papers to national and international communication associations, and has captured Top Paper honors six times. He is a co-editor on The Encyclopedia of Human Emotions, published by Macmillan Press. He has also published in Management Communication Quarterly, Journal of Contemporary Business Issues, Western Journal of Communication and Human Communication Research, and has authored book chapters on organizational consulting, interpersonal communication, emotion and persuasion. As a specialist in organizational communication and social influence, he has consulted for a number of national and international companies, including Commonwealth Edison, Boise-Cascade, William C. Brown Publishing in San Diego, CA, MidAmerica National Bank, Caterpillar, the Illinois Farm Bureau, the Illinois Area Health Education Center, Gardner-Denver Manufacturing, Roquette-America, and ImmuCell Pharmecuticals. During his undergraduate days, he was a nationally-ranked competitor in public speaking and oral interpretation events.
