Web Management/Social Media Graduate Assistantship - Spring 2025
College of Business and Technology - Macomb campus
Full-time/20 hours per week
Job Description: The College of Business and Technology (CBT) is seeking a dynamic individual who combines strong technical skills for managing the college's website with marketing expertise to develop and implement promotional strategies. This role focuses on effectively communicating the college's programs, events, and growth initiatives to diverse audiences. The candidate will work with the CBT leadership team (Dean, Associate Dean, and Directors) to develop content to increase awareness of CBT activities and drive customer engagement.
Responsibilities:
- Designing Marketing Materials - create digital and print marketing materials for CBT programs, events, and outreach initiatives consistent with university branding guidelines to ensure content is informative and appealing.
- Social Media Management - planning, implementing, and monitoring our social media strategy to increase our online presence. This includes content creation (text and video) and management for Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. The selected candidate will engage with customers/followers on the various platforms, and work collaboratively with University Communications and Marketing to promote CBT activities and events.
- Website Design and Update - assist Directors and select faculty with website content changes (some training available).
- Event Planning/Assistance - assistance with CBT event planning and coordination for specialty events.
Required Qualifications:
- Experience with content creation and management of social media (Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram)
- Experience with web design and publishing (HTML & CSS)
- Knowledge of graphic design principles for creation of printed marketing materials
- Proficient in Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop
- Knowledgeable in Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro
- General photography and copywriting skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
