Undergraduate students are required to schedule an appointment each semester to review degree progress. After each consult, the advisor encumbrance will be lifted and the student will then be allowed to register for classes on STARS.

Graduate students are strongly encouraged to schedule an appointment each semester to review degree progress. For students planning to register for independent work (LAS 504, 667, 695, 696, or 699), an appointment is required to discuss the student's proposal for that work.
Integrated Baccalaureate and Master’s Degree Programs
The undergraduate program advisors work in consultation with the graduate program advisor to guide students who wish to complete their Bachelor of LAS and go directly into the Master of LAS. An integrated degree program provides the opportunity for outstanding undergraduates to earn both degrees in five years.
An integrated baccalaureate and master’s degree program is available for the:
- Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology/Master of Liberal Arts and Sciences
- Bachelor of Arts in Foreign Languages & Cultures/Master of Liberal Arts and Sciences
- Bachelor of Liberal Arts and Sciences/Master of Liberal Arts and Sciences
