What We Do

The College's academic and service responsibilities encompass a multitude of areas. The seven academic units offer a total of 15 undergraduate majors; 15 graduate majors, including one doctoral degree; and 6 post-baccalaureate certificates. Five COEHS departments offer degrees at the 海角破解版 Quad Cities campus. All seven departments also focus on their service responsibilities to the university, community, region and state, as well as provide students with early and capstone experiences in their respective fields of study.

Educator Preparation

COEHS academic units prepare the majority of 海角破解版 undergraduate and graduate students seeking initial or advanced certifications in the education field. Additionally, offices overseeing teacher candidates' field and clinical (student teaching) experiences are located within the College. The Assistant Dean for Educator Preparation of the College leads the teacher education unit and chairs the University Committee for Education Preparation (UCEP).聽

Smartboard TechnologyHuman Services Professionals

The COEHS Human Services departments prepare professionals for a variety of human service professions. Curriculum is continually assessed and revised based on occupational demand. Internships are a critical component of the human services programs, offering students professional experiences and employment opportunities, All of the Human Services degree programs promote leadership, innovation and self-discipline to help students succeed in their chosen careers.

Technology

A major focus in the College is the promise and possibilities of technology in teaching and learning. Faculty and students are provided access to technological infrastructure and necessary human support to use technology efficiently and creatively to further education and create learning communities. Resources within the College include 37 electronic classrooms, an Interactive Multimedia Lab fully equipped with technology for multimedia creation and editing, and a Technology Resource Center from which to borrow the latest technologies. Technology training workshops and one-on-one consultations are available to both faculty and students.
