Risk Management and Emergency Preparedness

º£½ÇÆƽâ°æ's Office of Risk Management and Emergency Preparedness (RMEP) is responsible for the continued development and implementation of campus preparedness. The RMEP personnel strive to preserve and protect º£½ÇÆƽâ°æ's resources against losses arising out of any occurrence, thereby enabling the University to carry out its goals and purpose of providing a profound and positive impact on the changing world through instruction, research, and public service as the University educates and prepares a diverse student population to thrive in and contribute to a global society.

Risk Management

  • Facilitates the administrative handling of property, casualty, auto, and other types of insurance.
  • Holds an active membership in the Illinois Public Higher Education Consortium.

Emergency Preparedness

  • Facilitates a variety of all hazard programs and projects in emergency planning, mitigation, response, and recovery.
  • Keeps current Campus Emergency Operation Plans up-to-date and in accordance to current state and federal regulations.

The vision of Risk Management and Emergency Preparedness is to prepare º£½ÇÆƽâ°æ for the unexpected and to ensure that when unforeseen events do occur, we are equipped with the protection and resources needed to recover and continue toward our achievement of Higher Values in Higher Education.

Through university and community wide collaboration, Risk Management and Emergency Preparedness will achieve our mission of:

  • Assessing the unique risks present on the Macomb and Quad Cities campuses.
  • Addressing those risks with mitigation or risk transfer strategies that are appropriate and cost effective.
  • Preparing our campus community for emergencies.
  • Implementing safety measures, policies, and action plans that contribute to a safe campus environment.
  • Supporting the development of students in the Emergency Management academic program.
